🚚 How to Set Up 3rd Party Billing in Packem WMS

πŸ” What Is 3rd Party Billing?

Third-party billing refers to shipping charges being billed to a separate account, not the shipper (you) or the recipient (your customer).

βœ… Common use case: You're a 3PL warehouse shipping goods on behalf of a brand that sells products into large retailers like Walmart, Target, or Costco. Those retailers often require that shipping charges go to their own carrier account β€” not the brand’s or yours.

πŸ” Even though you ship it, Walmart pays for the shipping using their UPS or FedEx account.

To set this up, you need:

Packem WMS allows you to set this up through Order Source Rules and Custom Automation Rules.


✍️ Step 1: Create a 3rd Party Carrier Billing Rule

  1. Go to Clients in the main menu

  2. Select the client you want to create this billing rule for

  3. Navigate to Order Source Rules

  4. Click New Rule

    Fill in the following fields:

  5. Click Save to save the Carrier

  6. Click Save again on the top right corner to save the Rule for the Client
